Irrigation Design more
info
A carefully planned irrigation design can lower maintenance, increase crop production, reduce earthworks and ultimately save MONEY. FSA all Consulting can undertake facets of surface and spray irrigation system design.
|
Water Management Plan more
info
Using the latest in water management technology, FSA Consulting can model the water systems across your property and provide recommendations on the most suitable water control and diversion strategies to minimise environmental and financial losses. FSA Consulting has prepared Water Management Plans for coal mine overburden dumps, quarries, public road construction and many different intensive agricultural industries.

Water Reliability Study more
info
Do you rely totally or partly on surface water supplies for your enterprise? Ever wanted to know the reliability of water supply specific to your property? Do you require a water reliability study in support of a development application?
If you know the status of water supply to your property you can make informed decisions regarding water supply and use.
Using computer models that simulate the long term performance of your enterprise (irrigation, intensive animal production, etc) rational decisions on the reliability of water supply can be made. The models use historical rainfall, evaporation, runoff and stream flow records. Water sources include river flood harvesting, overland flow harvesting, bores, gully dams and irrigation allocation. The models can be adapted to any configuration of water storages, pumps, sumps and irrigation programs.

Water Storage Design more
info
FSA Consulting prides itself on providing cost effective, reliable ring tank designs using a combination of current design methods, sophisticated modelling programs and over 20 years of professional experience. FSA Consulting has designed over 50 water storages with a combined capacity of over 50,000 ML.
|
Storage Monitoring more
info
FSA Consulting, as part of the Irrimate™ group, is excited to offer the Storage Meter. The Storage Meter measures the water depth in your storage and converts it to an equivalent volume. The meter has a real-time display, which will display current storage volume, surface area and depth at the push of a button.
The Storage Meter comprises a pressure sensor to measure water depth (accurate to 5-10 mm) and a data logger to track volume changes (with capacity to store a year’s worth of data).
The logging capability of the meter, along with diary records of water movements, means that water use can be tracked and other valuable information (such as pump rates, etc) can be calculated.

Failure Impact Assesment more
info
Have you been issued with a request for a Failure Impact Assessment (FIA) for your referable farm dam or irrigation storage? FSA Consulting can undertake failure impact assessments at reasonable cost suitable for direct submission to DNR&W.
FSA Consulting will meet with you and staff from DNR&W to work through what is required for your FIA and devise a solution most suitable for both parties.

Assessing Water Resources more
info
Do you want to better utilise available water resources on your farm in order to increase profits? Are you thinking about irrigation or intensive livestock production? Do you want to improve water use efficiency?
In these drier times, all water use in Australia is under great scrutiny and subject to increasing levels of regulation. FSA Consulting can assist you to:
• Determine the current availability and reliability of water to your farm • Understand what you can and can’t do with regard to water resources in your catchment • Explore the opportunities available to you to secure water supplies from all sources (i.e. water trading) • Carry out a water audit of your enterprise to determine where the greatest water use efficiency gains can be made • Determine the costs/benefits of improving water use efficiency (through infrastructure reconfiguration, alternative irrigation systems, etc)
|
Surface Irrigation Evaluation more
info
FSA Consulting is the Irrimate provider for the Darling Downs region. Using Irrimate surface irrigation measuring equipment and computer simulation models, FSA Consulting can measure the amount of water applied during a surface irrigation event. The irrigation can then be optimised. Various parameters can be changed to see how they affect the amount of water applied to the crop and therefore, which changes will give the greatest efficiency gains. These parameters can be either management parameters (flow rate, cut off time) or infrastructure parameters (run length, slope).

LWMP more
info
The professional team at FSA Consulting can provide expert advice on LMWP preparation and irrigation best management practice. The LWMP services we can provide include:
Advice on ‘When do you need a LWMP?’ Site assessment Soil and water testing and analyses Site surveying Current and proposed irrigation infrastructure Current and proposed land and water management Recommendations for monitoring to ensure sustainable practices Preparation of a LWMP Communication with NRW
|
Certification of Works more
info
Thinking of modifying your existing irrigation system? You may be required to supply the Department of Natural Resources and Water (NR&W) with a certification of your existing overland flow structures validated by an RPEQ. FSA Consulting can provide an RPEQ certification for your properties overland flow works.
|
Surveying more
info
In order to accurately know the volume of your storages, or to start accurate water monitoring using depth sensors, a survey is required. FSA Consulting has considerable experience in carrying out these surveys, and can develop a depth-volume relationship for your storage.
|
Pump Station Capacity Assessment more
info
FSA Consulting is pleased to offer a pump capacity assessment service. With ever growing emphasis on the availability and use of water throughout Australia it is important to know how much water your pump can pump!
Staff from FSA Consulting can visit each pump station and collect data required to carry out the assessment, such as:
Minimum and maximum water intake levels Water outlet levels, pump locations and pipe lengths Suction and discharge pipe information (diameter, length and fittings) All data collected is processed and you will be provided with information defining the range and minimum / maximum pumping capacity of your pump

Seepage Monitoring more
info
Water is becoming an increasingly scarce and valuable resource. Most irrigators want to improve water use efficiency but the old adage is: “You can’t manage what you don’t measure”
Considerable increases in water use efficiency can be made at the water storage and in supply channels. However you need to know exactly how much water you are losing to seepage and evaporation before you can do anything about it.
FSA Consulting, as part of the Irrimate™ group, is proud to offer services to quantify seepage and evaporation losses using the Seepage and Evaporation Meter.
|
Water Trading Services more
info
Do you want to start water trading? Do you want to shift or modify a water allocation on a stream? With the release of Resource Operations Plans (ROP) in many catchments in Queensland, this is now possible.
Water harvesting allocations can now be traded. However there is much to be considered in any proposed trade or modification to a water harvesting allocation.
FSA Consulting will meet with you and DNRW and work through the various requirements to action a water trade or modification to a water allocation.
|
Electromagnetic (EM) Surveying - Storages more
info
Do you have a seepage problem in your irrigation storage? Are you planning a new irrigation storage?
FSA Consulting has the capability and experience to undertake electromagnetic (EM) surveys of your existing water storage or your proposed site for a new storage. FSA Consulting can undertake EM38 and EM31 surveys, effectively mapping the variation in soil types at depth under your storage.
FSA Consulting will generate meaningful information from the EM surveys and meet with you to discuss the results. The variation identified in the EM surveys can then be ground-truthed with soil test pits or soil coring to complete the picture and confirm further action.
